Trey Hendrickson

Trey Hendrickson puts an end to his costly holdout, receiving a $50 000 fine per day that he missed training. The 2024 league leader in sacks is yet to sign an extension with the Bengals but has returned to training camp as of last week. Hendrickson deserves to receive a large payout, as fellow pass rusher TJ Watt is now the highest paid non-QB in the league.

Shemar Stewart

First Round draft pick Shemar Stewart was the last rookie to reach a contract agreement with their respective teams. Stewart’s agent said the Bengals used language not present in past contracts that would make it possible to void guaranteed money in the future. Stewart held out of the offseason and missed three practices because of this, but ultimately signed the agreement and reported to practice. Shemar says there is “no bad blood between him and the team.” If the Rookie and the Bengals could not come to agreement there was a loop hole that would allow to him to re-enter to the 2026 draft.

Despite what the players and the organization say these disputes have taken a toll on the team as the organization. It may as very well effect future negotiations with other players.
