The New York Jets got bad news today as wide receiver Garrett Wilson was officially placed on IR after hurting his knee on Sunday. Adam Schefter reported the move on X, confirming Wilson will now miss at least four games.
Wilson went down in the second half and tried to shake it off, but the Jets clearly didn’t like what they saw in the follow-up tests. Before the injury, Wilson had been the Jets’ most productive player on offence. He led the team in targets, catches, and receiving yards, and basically carried the passing game week after week.
Losing him is a massive blow for an offence that already ranks as one of the worst. With Wilson out, the Jets will have to lean on the rest of the receiver room, and somebody is going to need to step up fast. The team hasn’t provided a full timetable beyond the IR window, so everyone will be waiting to see how quickly he recovers.
The Jets really stink, so this sucks for the fans, especially after selling at the deadline. They moved 2x All-Pro CB Sauce Gardner and All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. They got multiple first-round picks with the deals they made, but are going to fully rebuild once again. Thank goodness I am not a Jets fan. A horrid Offence and Defence now make them almost unwatchable.
