Well, it finally happened. Nico Harrison is out as Mavericks GM. And honestly, I can’t stop laughing. How does a man basically spend the last year constructing the Lakers – with the Dallas Mavericks? Is he finally going to be inducted with the title of The Greatest Lakers GM of All Time?
The Luka Trade That Ruined Dallas
Let’s go back in time because back in February, Harrison thought it’d be a good idea to trade Luka Dončić for Anthony Davis and a pick that’s going to be needed by the time I’m retired. Dallas was mortified – billboards, chants, social media – chaos. You’d think Luka left the state fair.
And now, look where we are. Luka’s in L.A., lighting it up at Crypto.com Arena while Dallas sits there and questions what just occurred.
The Joke Is On Him
Look, Harrison was employed by the Mavs but the man did work for the Lakers. Rob Pelinka didn’t even have to do anything – Harrison just basically gave him a superstar on a platter.
It’s almost a Disney movie joke. He gets fired by Dallas but gets standing ovations every time he steps into Los Angeles. If he stops by LA Live, he’ll get a drink from someone.
Sports Are Crazy
This just proves how crazy sports can be. One minute, you’re “the guy bringing a contender” and the next you’re trending on X because you made your rival team untouchable. But kudos – he’s made history. Not how he meant to do it, but it’s been done. For that, he will always be remembered as – yes, say it with me –
